Rihanna's baby isn't too happy that his sibling is going to the Oscars instead of him. Ahead of her performance next weekend at the 2023 Academy Awards, the singer took to Instagram on Sunday to share a photo and some videos of her 9-month-old son, whom she shares with A$AP Rocky. Their unborn child already made an appearance during her Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show on February 12, 2023, where she revealed her pregnancy. "My son when he found out his sibling is going to the Oscars and not him," the singer captioned the March 5 photo of her tearful baby.

Rihanna last performed at the Super Bowl 57 halftime show—visibly pregnant. The singer previously hinted to CBS Sports that she was "thinking about bringing someone" during her halftime performance and no one was expecting that it would be her second child. Before the musical icon walked the stage, "nobody knew," a source told PEOPLE, claiming that "she totally hid it." The Grammy winner played up the big reveal by caressing her stomach in the first few seconds of her performance to surprise everyone.

The pop sensation also wanted her Super Bowl performance to represent immigrants, her country Barbados and Black women around the world, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "That’s key for people to see the possibilities. And I’m honored to be here. I’m honored to be doing this this year,” she said at the time. “When you become a mom, there’s something that just happens where you feel like you could take on the world — you can do anything. And the Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world, so as scary as that was…there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all,” she said. “It’s important for my son to see that.”

Rihanna and her partner, 34-year-old rapper A$AP Rocky, welcomed their first child in May 2022. At the time a source said the fashion mogul "couldn't be happier." "Having a baby is something she was never focused on, but being with Rocky opened her up to the idea. She couldn't be happier and is so excited to be a mom," the source told PEOPLE. "She's loving all the changes to her body during pregnancy and has always celebrated pregnant women in her runway shows for Fenty." The insider added that everything the singer does "she does it her own way on her own timetable, and having a baby is no different. They're just like any other pair of parents-to-be. Yes, they happen to be famous but they're just the cutest, giddiest young couple that's expecting kids."

The rapper has apparently "doted on [Rihanna]" from the "very beginning." The two were reported to be dating in November 2020 after years of friendship. "A lot of guys have tried to sweep her off her feet, but Rocky actually managed to do it," said the source. "He's over-the-top romantic and sends her rooms full of flowers all the time. She's never felt this way before and this relationship has changed her." Here's wishing the couple the grandest of times with their kids. But we do feel a bit sad for the little boy who's feeling so left out about not being with his legendary mom at the Academy Awards this year.
