Alejandra Silva recently gave the world a rare sneak peek of her kids with Richard Gere. Gere, 73, and Silva share a 3-year-old son, Alexander, and a second boy they welcomed together in April 2020. On February 17 of this year, the political activist posted an Instagram photo of herself at the beach with her two kids, after celebrating her 40th birthday. "Thank you all for the birthday wishes," she wrote in the caption. "After almost 3 weeks of everyone being sick in our family, today finally I feel much better! Thank you for all the love ❤️ I give it all back to you!"

In an update, she assured fans that the family was recovering well. She mentioned, "Richard is feeling much better, we are all feeling much better, 'almost' back to normal." The Spanish philanthropist added, "We came to Mexico to continue with our conservation project south of Puerto Vallarta, we all came not feeling well from NY, our youngest James and Richard got Pneumonia and, Alexander and I, sinusitis and ear infections, now we are all well and almost fully recovered. Thank you all for your messages! Richard wanted me to post this second photo to show you that he is feeling much better."
Silva and Gere have reportedly known each other for over a decade, and first began dating in 2014. Although they share a 33-year age gap, they have found common interests, especially in philanthropy and giving back to the world. The couple secretly tied the knot in 2018 in an intimate ceremony after dating for over three years. The businesswoman announced the news at the time writing, "Today is the day I married the most wonderful man I have ever met, I know it sounds cliché but it’s true!! Comes from my heart, I'm so proud to be with you, to share this life with you, to be the mother of our children, to be your friend, to be your wife! You make me sooo happy! You are the love of my life."

The couple seems to be pretty private about their personal lives and doesn't give out too many specific details. Gere is notoriously private and is not even on social media. The pictures of their children always have their faces concealed. They are yet to reveal their second child's name. According to ET Online, this is Gere's third marriage. He was previously married to Cindy Crawford from 1991 to 1995 and to Carey Lowell from 2012 to 2016. The Pretty Women star has a 22-year-old son named Homer from his marriage with Lowell. According to PEOPLE, Silva also has another child, a 9-year-old son named Albert, from a previous marriage.

"I've been married three times," the actor told Extra. "There are always two things going on at the same time in any relationship that you, as an individual, are still trying to figure out who you are, always. How do you share that with another person, and does it fit?" He explained, "The person that you are today was not the same person you were 50 years ago when the relationship started." He added, "They're not the same person. You're not the same people together. So it's a constant checking in to see, 'Does this work?' And sometimes it doesn't … you've gone in different directions and, okay, you're in different places, and there's not a reason to stay together anymore."
