Trigger warning: This article contains themes of mental health issues that some readers may find distressing
Selena Gomez said her "heart has been heavy" in the comments section of her latest TikTok on Sunday. The 30-year-old singer expressed her concern for everyone’s mental health, during a makeup tutorial on the social media platform. According to PEOPLE, the Rare Beauty founder wrote, "Thank you and love you all so much. I'm deeply grateful for each and every one of you humans. You make me unbelievably happy." In a second comment, she said, "Please, please be kinder and consider others' mental health. My heart has been heavy and I only want good for everyone. All my love."

The comments came after the alleged drama between Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner. The Only Murders in the Building star got caught in supposed beef with model Hailey Bieber (who is married to her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber) as well as reality star and beauty entrepreneur Jenner, 25, in Feb 2023. Gomez had reportedly joked that she'd over-laminated her eyebrows in one of her stories on Instagram and later Jenner and Bieber shared stories about their own brows which people assumed was shade being thrown at Gomez.

However, Jenner quickly shut that down writing on TikTok, "This is reaching. no shade towards Selena ever and I didn't see her eyebrow posts! You guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly." Even Gomez responded saying, "Agreed @kyliejenner. It's all unnecessary. I'm a fan of Kylie!" in the comments section, per Hollywood Life.
Another incident involved Hailey Bieber dissing Taylor Swift (Gomez's best friend) on her old show Drop the Mic alongside her co-host Method Man, per Us Weekly. When the rapper spoke about Swift's last album Hailey pretended to gag and stuck her tongue out before rolling her eyes. Gomez seemed to stand up for her friend in the comments section of the viral video and said, "So sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game."

After all this, Gomez seemed tired of social media and announced at the end of February that she was taking a break from social media. "I'll see you guys sooner than later," she said to her fans in a TikTok Live, per PEOPLE. "I'm going to be taking a second from social media because this is a little silly. I'm 30 and am too old for this. But I love you so much and I'll see you guys sooner than later," The Lose You To Love Me singer said. "I'm just gonna take a break from everything." Gomez has been very open about her mental health struggles and previously told Rolling Stone, “I remind myself that I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the psychotic break, if it wasn’t for my lupus, if it wasn’t for my bipolar diagnosis. I think I would just probably be another annoying entity that just wants to wear nice clothes all the time. I’m depressed thinking about who I would be.” Sometimes, she likes to listen to Adele sing “I hope I learn to get over myself” (I Drink Wine lyrics), and then she feels like "real life is happening."
